• Betrothal Ceremony & Gifts

  This has to be done before the Wedding Day.  Usually a good or an auspicious day once that has been selected, the Groom will have to bring their parents or elderly to the bride’s home to settle this commitments so that both side will have the understanding and verbally agreed on their marriages. Betrothal Gifts usually consist of the followings:

  1. Betrothal’s Grand Money as a token for the bride’s parents for letting their daughter marrying him.  The sum varies depends on someone’s capability.
  2. Two front door red banners. ( 9 feet 9 inches and the other one is 9 feet in length).
  3. A pair of Double happiness wording sets.
  4. Two sets of Dragon & Phoenix candles. If you intend to do the Hair Dressing Ceremony, then you need to get 4 sets.
  5. Two sets of Dragon & Phoenix Incense. Quantity also depends as per Hair Dressing Ceremony.
  6. Wedding Basket.
  7. Happiness Candies – 2 packs.
  8. Gold Coloured coconuts – 2 pairs.
  9. Dried Fruits -  2 sets.
  10. Chinese Tea – 2 packs.
  11. Brandy/Wine/Champagne – 2 bottles.
  12. Long Life Noodles.
  13. Fruits – example (oranges) – quantity wise you can choose from 12,18 or 36.
  14. Broil chicken or roast duck – for praying ancestor’s.
  15. Whole roast pig – optional (depends on the groom’s preference)
  16. Wedding Cakes for the bride’s side bridesmaids. (Quantity wise depends on the bride’s side).
